Hello Flow friends,

For those of us living in the southern hemisphere, the cooler, shorter days of Autumn have arrived. Often we get so caught up in life we forget that we are a part of the natural world around us, thinking that we must always be blooming and growing to be successful in the world.

My love, look around at the beauty and wisdom of nature, life is forever asking us to just surrender to the natural flow of life, and Autumn is a wonderful teacher.

What is the deeper message of Autumn?

As we look around at the falling leaves, nature is editing and letting go of the old to make way for new growth. It is also a good time for us to adopt the same wisdom, cleaning out those hidden corners of our homes and workplaces, clearing out our spaces practically and energetically is incredibly energizing and therapeutic.

Rug up and enjoy more warming foods and teas.

''Sing to me, Autumn, with the rustle of your leaves.

Breathe on me your spicy scents that flow within your breeze.

Dance with me, Autumn, your waltz that bends the boughs of trees.

Now tell me all the secrets you've whispered to the seas.

Sleep with me, Autumn, beneath your starlit skies.

Let your yellow harvest moon shimmer in our eyes.

Kiss me, Autumn, with your enchanting spellbound ways

That changes all you touch into crimson golden days.

Love me, Autumn, and behold this love so true

That I'll be waiting faithfully each year to be with you''

How do I stay my most happy and healthy self through Autumn?

One of the most fundamental principals of Tradition Chinese Medicine is living in harmony with the cycles of nature.

During this time of year our bodies are more susceptible to dry skin, coughs and colds, and unfortunately because we tend to drink less, digestive issues.

As the days become cooler our body's are craving warmth through the foods and fluids we consume. Now is the time to swap out our cold smoothies and juices for teas, and salads for soups and roasted seasonal vegetable's.

This time of year in particular its so important to stay hydrated, drinking room temperature water and herbal teas are wonderful for keeping your digestive fire strong through autumn and winter.

This is a delicious nutrient dense soup that one of my staples through the cooler seasons.

"Sky above me, earth below me, fire within me"

Lets not forget the importance of movement through autumn, enjoy taking those blustery long walks, breathe in that sweet cool air but mindful to stay rugged up so as not to catch a chill.

Enjoy stronger yoga practices in Autumn.

What style of yoga to practice through Autumn??

I love to practice more heating styles of yoga through the cooler months. This is so good for our circulation, digestion and hydration of our skin, and the savasana is so much sweeter when we have worked a bit harder.

Enjoy this special time of year and remember to go with the flow, and listen to the wisdom of the seasons.

Sending love and blessings, till next we meet.
