Hello darling Flow friends,

Today we chat about all things relating to the third chakra or our power chakra, which is also known in Sanskrit is Manipura chakra.

Manipura translates to the "Jewel in the city" and gives us understanding of how important it is to harness the luminosity of this chakra, so we too can shine brightly.

Power chakra 101

Manipura chakra is located at the solar plexus which just below the diaphragm.

When we think of the chakras, we may get caught up in the esoteric idea of these unseen energy centres, but they relate to actual anatomical energetic intersections too.

The solar plexus is a collection of two bundles of nerves or 'Ganglion' these nerves intertwine and pass each other at this location.

The element that rules this chakra is fire, it also relates to our digestive fire, when we suffer with gastro intestinal issues, if feel butterfly's or that nervous pang of anxiety deep in the pit of our belly, this points to manipura chakra being involved.

This chakra is about our individual personality, or how we present in the world, it is home to our ego essentially.

Often it is this chakra that shows up most in our careers, it is the epicentre to your unique personal narrative, and home to your personal power and confidence.

The deity that presides over Manipura chakra is Ram, in folk lore Ram is a great king, and he leads his people with strength, courage and honour, this is how we do best in life also, leading with a pure and bright heart, shining the way for others, but the key is to do this without blinding them.

How to boost the energy of Manipura chakra

There is a lot of discussion in the spiritual community about destroying the ego, please know that it is so important to be you, and not to diminish your own unique brilliance, instead, its about softening your ego, so that you allow others there time to shine also, aim to be humble and welcoming, by inviting others to also step forward into the light.

Stimulate the fire within you through strong breath work, like Kapalabhati Click here for a how to video

  • Strong exercise like running or ashtanga yoga with lots of twists.

  • Get into the sunshine and soak up the rays, this will surely power up Manipura chakra.

  • Eat foods and herbs that help to calm your gastro intestinal tract.

  • Traditionally people have eaten herbs and spices such as turmeric, cardamom, celery seeds, cinnamon, coriander, cumin, fennel, fenugreek, peppermint, ginger root, lemon, orange peel to help calm the digestive tract.

"It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,
talented and fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of God.

Your playing small does not serve the world.

There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other

people won't feel insecure around you.

We were born to make manifest the glory of
God that is within us.

It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people
permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others"
